Trust in the Lord with all your heart...
Proverbs 3:5
The Knitting Ministry meets on Wednesday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 in the Office Conference Room. The Ministry is open to everyone! Our experienced knitters are happy to teach those who are just beginning. We meet for prayer, conversation, and, of course, knitting! In addition to our traditional items, our group also knits winter hats for local children and homeless persons to keep our neighbors warm during the coldest months. Patterns will be provided for the original knitted shawl, the original crocheted shawl, and our community winter projects.

Prayer shawls, lap robes, and warm winter hats have been made for centuries. They are universal and embracing, comforting and enfolding, wrapping and warming, mothering and hugging, sheltering and embracing. Those who knit and receive these handmade items are blessed.
Over the centuries, these garments have come to symbolize shelter, peace, and spiritual sustenance. The prayer shawl ministry's mission and message are simple, universal, and enduring—turning ordinary skeins of yarn into handmade expressions of love and comfort, interwoven with countless prayers and blessings.
This ministry is a blessing for the giver and the recipient, as the unconditional loving embrace of a caring God surrounds both. Prayer shawls, lap blankets, and winter hats become tangible symbols of love when words can't be found to adequately express one's feelings. It is a gift freely given with no strings attached. Made in prayer, as a prayer, for prayer, these gifts are passed hand-to-hand and heart-to-heart.
