First UMC Elgin is open to the public, and several areas of our building are available for rent. We offer both long-term Shared Space arrangements as well as short-term and one-time use rentals.
Whether you are looking for a facility to host a family gathering, a concert or recital, a poetry reading, or theater group rehearsals, First UMC Elgin has a space to meet your needs.
Conveniently located at the corner of Highland Avenue and State Street in Downtown Elgin, we offer a wide variety of rooms and will work with you to find the ideal setup for your event, large or small.
Rental Guidelines & Pricing
- Pricing: Detailed rental rates and availability are available directly through the church office.
- Approval Process: All rental requests must be approved by the Governance Board.
- Values Alignment: Proposed events and activities must align with First UMC Elgin's inclusive views regarding LGBTQIA+ persons and our supportive stance on immigrants. Full details on our mission and core beliefs can be found at fumcelgin.org.
Parking
Parking is available in the city-owned parking deck located at Highland Avenue and Spring Street. Street parking is available around the church, along with limited parking in the lot on the west side of the building near Rogers Park. Items marked with an asterisk (*) require an Audio/Visual Tech and/or assistance from the Building Engineer at an additional cost.
Kitchen use requires a completed Kitchen Addendum as well as a brief review and orientation with the Kitchen Manager.
