Living out our vision to "turn our faith, hope, and love into action on behalf of women, children, and youth," the UWF will gather at 9:00 a.m. to prepare chicken noodle soup, salad, and brownies for the women and children at the Elgin Community Crisis Center.
Everyone is welcome to participate by contributing ingredients and helping with the cooking. Come for fun and fellowship, and stay for a shared soup lunch!
Free Hot Breakfast at the Vineyard
The Vineyard offers a free hot breakfast to those in need Monday through Saturday (excluding major holidays, when other community organizations may provide meals).
For over 16 years, First UMC Elgin volunteers have served breakfast on the first Wednesday of each month. Due to increased need, additional volunteers are welcome! If you'd like to contribute by preparing food, bringing drinks, or serving, please get in touch with Jane Duffy or Kathy Long.

United Women in Faith—Food, Fellowship, and Faith
A special thanks to everyone who took part in the UWinFaith Soup Ministry on Saturday, February 17. Our wonderful crew (of women and men) brought together ingredients to make five (5) varieties of delicious soup. We washed veggies and containers, peeled, chopped, simmered, prayed, packaged, ate lunch together, and then delivered soup and bread to over 60 households! Each container included a special note and scripture for the recipients. It was a blessing to share this act of Faith, Hope, and Love with you all.

Our Mission
We seek to connect and nurture women through Christian spiritual formation, leadership development, creative fellowship, and education so that they can inspire, influence, and impact local and global communities.
Our Vision
We are a powerful, fearless force driven by God’s love and united in sisterhood. With a focus on women, children, and youth, we act for justice and transform communities.
We face the realities we see in the world, even when they are not the ones we would like to see. However, our goal is not to bear witness simply to harm but also to God’s love by acting boldly to change those harms.
Our Action
Bold action, like faith, takes courage. Our bravery is inspired by God’s love and our powerful commitment to improving the lives of women, children, and youth. United Women in Faith works for justice through compassionate service and advocacy to change unfair policies and systems that harm women, children, and youth—from racial and gender injustice to economic inequality, climate issues, and more.
