Dr. Felicia LaBoy is the Lead Pastor /Spiritual Coach of the historic First United Methodist Church in Elgin, IL. With over 30+ years of business experience, 20+ years of urban pastoral ministry, and 10+ years of academic experience, Felicia is a popular workshop and keynote presenter. She is a recognized expert in faith-based community and leadership development, Evangelism, race relations, and Doctor of Ministry (DMin) education. She is also an experienced Fortune 100 company leader with 25 years of community and professional organizational leadership skills,

She weaves her academic, pastoral, and business education and experience to bring together diverse groups to develop a shared vision and work in concert to
achieve better churches, communities, and organizations.
An Elder in Full Connection with the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church, Felicia has served as the Lead Pastor at Mandell UMC (Chicago), Maple Park UMC (Chicago), St. John's UMC (Oak Park), and Cosmopolitan U.C. (Melrose Park). Under her leadership at Maple Park UMC, a community development corporation. The Seed Center was created, which had contracts/ partnerships with the City of Chicago. Felicia has also served the theological academy as the Assistant Professor of Evangelization at United Theological Seminary and Associate Dean for Black Church Studies and Advanced Studies (DMin and non-degree). She is a United Methodist Church Board of Higher Education and Ministry Woman of Color Scholar and certified in Evangelism by the General Board of Discipleship of the Northern IL Conference.
Her academic credentials include a Ph.D. and MDiv. from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary with concentrations in Evangelism, theology, ethics, and history; an MBA from Duke University; and an M.A. in Christian Ministry from Indian Christian Ministry. She is also an Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) Certified Professional Coach, specializing in individual and organizational transitions.
Felicia is married to Adrian LaBoy. They are the proud parents of three children, grandparents of eleven grandchildren, and great-grandparents of four great-grandchildren. They currently reside in Elgin, Illinois.
Her hobbies include going to concerts, gardening, cooking, traveling, and hanging out with friends.
Her favorite passage of Scripture is Philippians 3: 12 – 14 (MSG):
"I'm not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don't get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward--to Jesus. I'm off and running, and I'm not turning back."
