The Prayer Shawl Ministry knits blessings of comfort and healing that are then given to someone in need of God’s loving care, compassion, and support. If you know of someone who would benefit from receiving such a gift, please contact the church office or Karen Fletcher at 847.707.0678 or firstname.lastname@example.org). The shawls are for anyone in need, not just for our church family, but anyone anywhere. The Prayer Shawl Ministry meets every Wednesday morning at 9:30 in the Wesley Room. If you are unable to attend at that time, but would like to participate to this ministry, we joyfully welcome your needlework contributions.
“Prayer shawls become tangible symbols of love when words can’t be found to adequately express one’s feelings. They can be warm hugs of happiness, empathy, and support; something to hold on to when all else seems to be slipping away. Wrapping another in a shawl knit of your own prayers and loving thoughts is a gift, not only for the one receiving the shawl, but for yourself as well.” - The Prayer Shawl Companion
